Well, I’m just getting home from the hospital and feeling a bit groggy and out of it still so forgive me if I make little to no sense.

But I wanted to come and give the update that I have so far.  Surgery went well and with out a hitch, pathology did a "frozen section"  while I was under and they said it looked negative for cancer.  We still are waiting for the final pathology results because the frozen section can be wrong, but my surgeon said it looks really hopeful.  So that is great news, I also still have half of my thyroid left so yay!

So we are home now, and I’m doing well, just tired right now and a little sore, but they sent me home with some good meds so I should be pretty well taken care of.

G convinced me to put up some pictures, and I’m far too groggy to think it through or put up a fight :) so here you have it, me with my new neck:

and, a close up:

so they used a dermabond "skin glue" so no stitches, and no bandages to change or anything, also I can shower and I don’t have to worry about it.  My only worry is freaking the kids out with my Frankenstein neck wound!  They’ll get over it… right??? :)

Ok, so that is all I can get out coherently here.  I just want to thank everyone again for all your love and prayers and support, just a few more days till we get the final good news.  I’ll definitely keep you posted.

  3. That actually looks pretty amazing considering you just had it done YESTERDAY. I bet once it heals it will be hardly noticable, it’ll just blend in as another line on your neck. Awesome!

  4. Wow! You look a bit too chipper (or doped…:)) for just having had surgery! I’m so glad for the good news of most likely no cancer. And I think having four boys is BEST case scenario for a next scar – I’m thinking having a Frankestein mom is about the coolest thing they could ask for! Nice to see you home and smiling.

  5. And by next scar, I meant neck scar :)

  6. Hi gorgeous, you look great for just having surgery! I agree with everyone, it will be hardly noticeable once it heals. I hope you are feeling better soon and that you get lots of love and hugs from your boys and if you need anything you can just hollar at us out here in cyber-land, we all love you!

  7. You look amazing for what you have just been through! Congrats on the preliminary excellent report. Watch the mail for a surprise from me….probably tomorrow. :)

You look wonderful! I am so glad you are doing good. And how cool that you didn’t need stitches. You might not want to mention to the boys that they used glue. No telling what they would do with that piece of information. ;)

I’m glad they used the dermabond. My mom had her thyroid removed back during the dark ages and the doctor did a horrible job. You look great. I think your kids will be so happy to have mommy home and ok that the scar will soon be forgotten!

  12. It’s cut into a smile shape, so just paint some eyes and a nose above it and you’ll have another face!

And on the upside, you now have a facial piercing AND a neck scar so I will definitely not be messing with you at the next bunco meeting. You look like you can kick my butt :)
